The trombone brings real presence to a band, and it's a beautifully hands-on instrument to learn — no valves, just the slide and your ear. Ours are quality Yamaha student models, serviced through our Yamaha-endorsed workshop with the slide action checked and freed so it moves smoothly from day one. These are standard tenor trombones, right for beginners through to intermediate players. One thing worth knowing: the slide has a longer reach than other brass, so very young players sometimes start a little later — if you're unsure it suits your child's size, just ask and we'll happily advise.
Your hire terms
You pay your first three months upfront when you sign up, then it settles into a simple monthly payment from month four. No lock-in contract, no deposit, no fuss. Keep the instrument as long as you need it and return it whenever you're done.
Thinking of buying new?
Some companies offer hire-to-buy, where you keep the hired instrument and pay full price for it. We do it differently. When you're ready for an instrument of your own, we put a credit toward a new instrument — priced competitively from the start — plus 20% off books and accessories to set it up. And every new instrument comes with a 3-year warranty, backed by our in-house Yamaha service centre and luthier workshop.
