More about your rental lever harp
Hiring is by far the smartest way to start the harp — these are beautiful, valuable instruments, and renting lets you fall in love with playing well before committing to one of your own. Ours are quality lever harps, set up, regulated and tuned in our workshop so they arrive sounding their best. Sizing matters here more than with any other instrument: while smaller harps (around 26–29 strings) are light and can be suitable for young beginners or tighter spaces, we hire larger harps with 34 strings, which is the size that most teachers will recommend. These harps give more range as you progress and suit all students from absolute beginners to adults.
Your hire terms
You pay your first three months upfront when you sign up, then it settles into a simple monthly payment from month four. No lock-in contract, no deposit, no fuss. Keep the instrument as long as you need it and return it whenever you're done.
Thinking of buying new?
Some companies offer hire-to-buy, where you keep the hired instrument and pay full price for it. We do it differently. When you're ready for an instrument of your own, we put a credit toward a new instrument — priced competitively from the start — plus 20% off books and accessories to set it up. And every new instrument comes with a 3-year warranty, backed by our in-house Yamaha service centre and luthier workshop.
