Hire Instrument Terms and Conditions

This is the agreement you accept when you tick “I agree” while completing a hire.

In plain English

  • This is a rental, not a purchase. The instrument stays ours — you're hiring it, not buying it.
  • You pay 3 months upfront, then monthly. The first 3 months are non-refundable (they cover setup, servicing and cleaning). After that, it's month-to-month — cancel and return anytime.
  • Look after it, and insure it. Take reasonable care, cover it against loss or damage, and report any damage to us straight away.
  • Keep it yours to use only. Don't sell, lend, or pawn it.
  • Keep us in the loop. Let us know if your card, address, or contact details change, and keep the instrument at the address you gave us.
  • Payments run until it's returned, and we'll always give you at least 30 days' notice before any rate change.

Music Rentals — Hire Instrument Terms and Conditions This is a rental agreement. You are hiring the instrument; it remains the property of Music Rentals at all times and ownership does not transfer to you. Your first three months are payable upfront and are non-refundable, as they cover the setup, servicing and cleaning of your instrument. After that, the monthly rental charge is debited from your nominated account once a month, and continues until the instrument is returned. There is no minimum term beyond the initial three months — you may cancel and return the instrument at any time after that. By agreeing, you agree to: 1. Take all reasonable care of the instrument and return it to Music Rentals in good condition, allowing for fair wear and tear. 2. Insure the instrument, or otherwise be able to cover its value, against loss or damage from any cause — and to pay Music Rentals either the market value of the instrument or the cost of any repairs, should loss or damage occur. 3. Not sell, lend, offer for sale, or place the instrument under any lien or security. 4. Notify Music Rentals of any change to your card details, address, telephone number, or ID circumstances while the instrument is on hire. 5. Keep the instrument at the address provided as the place where the instrument will be kept, and notify us if this changes. You understand that: 1. Any loss, damage, or other circumstance affecting the playing condition, value, or access to the instrument must be reported to Music Rentals immediately. 2. Outstanding hire payments may incur penalty charges. 3. Payments continue until the instrument is returned to Music Rentals. 4. Music Rentals may recover the instrument after a defined period of non-payment. 5. Hire rates may be reviewed and adjusted periodically, with no less than 30 days' written notice before any change takes effect.
